picnics + patterned napkins

by Grace Bonney

the other night i had one of those dreams where you wake up happy because you think the dream is real. i dreamt that we suddenly had access to our rooftop, which i had converted (in my sleep as well?) to a beautiful patio with a charming little greenhouse. inside the greenhouse i’d set up a dinner table (i’m guessing the inspired that part) and was planning to have all of our friends over for an outdoor party. i woke up, so excited to plan the menu and pick out the table decorations when it hit me- grace, you don’t have access to your roof, and it definitely doesn’t have a greenhouse on it. drats. but it inspired me to look at fun dinner party table decorations anyway. while i was clicking around on i found myself stuck on the – all of those gorgeous patterns and colors, just waiting to be paired together. combined with this adorable set of ($5), they would be perfect for a picnic in the park- or in an imaginary rooftop greenhouse.
