For this season’s radio shows, I’m trying a new format for a bit. Rather than single-person interviews, I’m inviting small groups of 2-3 people on air to discuss a larger, over-arching topic that is important to the creative community. From copyright and copying to inspiration and education, we’re going to cover so many issues that are relevant to not just the artists we support here, but the people reading as well. I’ve written down a wide range of topics that span the full length of life/work issues and have invited some of my favorite artists, writers and business owners to come join me to share their thoughts, advice and concerns.
To start the series, I invited the people I spent most of my time with- my co-workers at Design*Droits-Humains. Max and Amy joined me on-air yesterday to discuss a topic we’ve been kicking around at the office for a while now: Streamlining Your Life. Inspired by fall fashion and home trends, namely the return to utilitarianism and things that are practical but still beautiful, we decided to talk about ways we could apply that concept to everything in our personal and work lives to make our day-to-day schedule easier and less stressful. From the actual “uniforms” we wear to work (we each have our own set way of dressing that is a safe go-to every day) to what we eat and how we exercise, we discussed these daily rituals alongside the rituals we use for work productivity. The goal is to avoid decision fatigue and I hope the ideas and tips we shared in this episode are useful. If nothing else, I hope it inspires a few people to try my new obsession- . We talked about some great new apps, books and online tool in the episode so I hope you’ll find them useful! Thanks for listening- xo, grace
