12 Times a Pink Sofa Made the Room

by Kevin O'Gara

It’s no secret that the Design*Droits-Humains team is in love with the color pink. Just scroll back four years, and you’ll see that Grace was professing her love for pink in this post, and now there’s a dedicated Instagram hashtag for , which has collected over 12,000 beautiful, rosy-toned images. From making a statement to acting as a warm neutral, pink is increasingly being recognized as a versatile color that can find its way into the color palette of any style or type of room. It’s incredible to think of this small thread — a pink sofa — that connects the homes and styles in this post, and it’s so interesting to see how varied the context for this piece is in each room.

These pink sofas show just how much fun you can have when you take a chance with an interesting color on a large piece of furniture. It doesn’t always have to make a statement, but these living rooms demonstrate how successful a space can be when you step outside of the comfort zone of white, beige and brown. What do you think about these saturated sofas?

  • I have a lamp like that although mine has a wood base – my husband purchased it from a decorated in the Merchandise Mart years ago

  • I’m not a pink fan yet we went for it 2 years ago when our original intention was to buy a grey one. Never looked back. So much fun and not as girly as some think. My husband who laughed at the idea likes it even more than me. Sometimes you just need to shake things up and get out of your safety zone.

I wrote about on my blog at the time and shared one picture. I’m embarrassed for my rambling there and long text but proud of our big pink! :)

  • Oh my so much pink perfection in this post! Thanks so much for including one of our favorite pieces here at P&J, The Serra, our pink vintage sectional sofa. We are always thrilled when someone recognizes her blush beauty and we’re so flattered to be included on this gorgeous list!

  • The combination of the bright pink velvet and the traditional design of that Jonathan Adler sofa is brilliant! Keeps it classic yet fresh and unexpected.
