Remembering Christmas Catalogues with Horchow + New Favorites

by Caitlin Kelch

When the holiday season rolls around, there are those of us who fondly remember poring over thicker-than-thick catalogues as children. I did all of my catalogue-page-corner-folding at my grandmother’s mid-century home in Bellefonte, PA. I’d sprawl out on the gold-toned shag carpeting in the family room and get busy with stacks of them. These days, even our favorite legacy retailers have an online presence and, for the most part, we’ve traded in our catalogue stacks for our laptops or phones. I still love perusing the online holiday sections of my childhood catalogue favorites. The Horchow catalogue was always one of those favorites, filled with glittery pieces that made the holiday season seem as magical as the faux snow duets on the variety shows that dominated primetime TV back in the day.

In keeping with my tradition, I’ve bookmarked some of my favorites from Horchow that make for some special surprises this gifting season. They’re perfectly glittery, and from brands that always nail it from a design perspective. Here’s to holiday daydreaming and all that glitters!
