There’s little that gives us wanderlust more than the allure of an open road calling our name — for us, and our fur-babies in tow, with an adorable trailer bringing up the back. When it comes to renovations, a trailer isn’t easy per se, but due to its relative small size it seems somehow more manageable. The other thing that makes trailer renovations so impressive is that, for the most part, the interior of a trailer is not for the design-minded. Over the years we have shared several impressive trailers that have become homes, businesses, and vacation spots. We’ve rounded up some of our D*S favorites, as well as some of our favorites from around the web. Do you feel like us, that seeing a newly refreshed trailer makes you want to break out your chisel and a bucket of paint to see what awaits you? —

was remodeled for a client that wanted to create a mobile bar business to bring to weddings, festivals, and other events. Having a towable business makes you really feel like you can take your business anywhere, literally!
If you want another job to fantasize about, how about this couple who quit their jobs to travel the country pursuing their dreams and selling their crafted wares out of their

While this Airstream stays put, it is also a studio in addition to this
Seattle couple's home
. This 200-square-foot trailer was completely gutted when the couple picked it up and they totally rebuilt it and customized every element.
We love how this tiny (and incredibly adorable) trailer via got an exterior makeover that was a little outside the box. The custom mid-century inspired wood door is one of our favorite elements!
This travel trailer that remodeled shows how much of a difference custom details can make to any space. By adding textiles, something that isn't as common in trailer projects, it makes the space feel that much more like home, which is exactly what you want when you're living life on the open road!
If ever you needed an example of what a difference a fresh coat of paint can make -- here it is! RVs and trailers often are wood panel-cladded, or dark, and at least drab. Taking this RV (via ) from generic to peaceful and comforting makes us sure this family will be happy calling it home whenever they travel.
When most people are remodeling their trailers, a lot of the original features get gutted and often tossed. Here, created a beautiful custom tabletop from reclaimed wood. We love that it still feels subtle, while adding a personal touch to this restored trailer.
Vintage trailers are just that -- old -- so sometimes they need a little more TLC than a quick buff and polish.
, a trailer gets a new paint job and a healthy dose of color and patterns to make her good as new!
collaborated with Ellen Pompeo (of Grey's Anatomy fame) to give her on-set trailer (which she had been in for 10 years!) an upgrade. Now she doesn't have to return to an uninspiring space on her breaks, and instead can feel like her trailer is a respite from work and the outside world. We love how a lot of these upgrades are budget-friendly!
While we love original features in any type of home, wood paneling in a very small space can sometimes feel a little stifling. In this
vintage trailer remodel
, the couple primed and painted everything thoroughly with white paint which helps the limited natural light bounce off of the walls, making it feel bigger than it is. Creating a lighter space also makes it seem cleaner somehow.
