9 Sliding Barn Doors We Love

by Grace Bonney

These days it’s hard to escape the popularity of sliding barn doors. I’m not sure if it’s just the power of or the rise of salvage wood appreciation, but from coast to coast, homes are embracing sliding barn doors for their texture, character and practicality (they’re great for spaces with limited door-opening space!). What I love most about this trend is the way it feels equally at home in all-white modern city apartments (see above) or comfortable homes in the country. Today I’m sharing 9 of my favorite sliding barn doors, from bright red modern versions to deeply patina-ed antique styles. Slide on! xo, grace

It’s not a sliding barn door, but Dave Alhadeff’s Brooklyn home includes a stunning sliding door with more industrial vibes.

This stylish laundry room renovation includes a salvaged wood barn door to separate the storage room from the main space.

Our old Brooklyn office included a dreamy barn door that Fitzhugh (see above!) installed for us.

I love this bright .
